Ardabil Province is one of the new provinces in the latest geographical divisions of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Its capital is the city of Ardabil, one of the most ancient cities of the country, which some historians consider it to be dating back to the time of Achaemenian dynasty.
Handicrafts
There are a wide variety of handicrafts Ardabil is renowned for, including “ Gelim “ ( a kind of carpet) and products made of leather , part of which are exported to foreign countries.
Tourist attractions
There are several breathtaking natural tourist attractions in Ardabil Province including, Aghbolagh Fall, Sardabeh Fall, Gour Gour Alvares Fall, Gour Gour Khiavchay Fall, Fandoghloo Forest .
Monuments
Bazaar of Ardabil , Sheikh Saffyeddin Ardabili mausoleum could be referred to as some of the most famous monuments of Ardabil province.
Exports
Proximity to Caspian Sea, as well as being endowed with numerous rivers has enabled Ardabil Province to have access to different kinds of fishes; and therefore fishery has been developed to a great extent in the province. Among the major fishery products in the province is Caviar, which has turned Ardabil into one of the exporters of high quality Caviar to different parts of the world. Ardabil is also an exporter of citrus fruits to Iran’s neighboring countries. The province is also renowned for industries related to construction. It is a major producer of ornamental and construction stones and cement, which are mainly exported to Middle Eastern countries.
